The Milking Shed/Cow Byre

Milking shed module

This is built of Bayko with the interior base covered with a slab effect paper. The post and rail fences are made from bamboo skewers.
(please note the backdrop is not the one that will eventually be used but it was better than having all my curtains)

Cows are patiently waiting their turn to be milked. The small side building is the calf shed.

The old milk cart has been pressed into service taking visitors on a tour.

A dairymaid is staggering under the weight of two buckets on a yoke while an onlooker stands and watches while the gander is doing what ganders always do - threatens him. Better than a dog for keeping unwanted visitors out.

Yokes make carrying 4 gallons of liquid a lot easier as they take the weight off the arms but it is still a case of balancing the buckets and walking carefully. Believe me - I tried it once

One dairymaid is still busy milking while the cats look on. Well, two of them are looking on while the other is hoping to sneak some milk. (just visible behind the cow leaving
